THE CHALLENGE OF THE 21ST CENTURY

In the days of ancient Old Testament history, Israel was blessed to have the “men of Issachar, who understood the times and knew what Israel should do” (I Chronicles 12:32).

Today, the church stands in need of men and women who understand the times and who know what the church should do.

How do we communicate the Gospel and defend it in a culture that is immersed in postmodernism? How can the church address contemporary issues, such as the separation of church and state, gay marriage, abortion, and social justice without being compromised by the political process and without obscuring the Gospel? What lessons must we learn from history if we are to have wisdom for today?

The Isaac Backus Project exists to equip Christians for times such as these.
